November Balance Box
Hope you are having a happy, cozy November. The items in this month's box are meant to help that along and share with holiday guests. You'll get 4 OJAS JUICES because they are so verstaile and perfect for many reasons at this time of year. First, it is loaded with vitamin C for immunity, inflammatory busting ginger and turmeric, and with rosehips, hibiscus, and schisandra berry, the beautifying effects are noticeable. Serve this juice warm, especially if you are feeling under the weather. It is great for making cocktails and even greater in helping to recover and replenish after being overserved. One of my favorite ways to use the Ojas in November is to make the best cranberry sauce ever. Serve the cranberry sauce with your turkey obviously, but also so good on a warm bowl of oatmeal with ghee, or over cheese with crackers. Speaking of, the MANGO CHUTNEY ( mango, distilled white vinegar, star anise, honey, salt, cardamom, serano peppers, cayenne pepper, ginger, cloves) was always a favorite in the cafe. It is also nice over cheese with crackers, in a smoothie bowl, or with those leftovers. We served it with salmon at SAMA and so delicious on that too. It is good in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
You'll receive 4 GOOD MOOD SMOOTHIES because they make life so easy with guests who are picky eaters or don't arrive to breakfast on time. Have them defrosted and ready to toss in the blender with ice for a hearty, yummy breakfast or an afternoon pick me up. The acutal good mood causing adaptogens in the smoothie are cacao, cordyceps, ashwaghanda, and maca. CHOCOLATE MACAROONS (coconut flakes, cacao, maple syrup, vanilla, pink salt) are the treat this month. Enjoy these with our holiday tea, the CACAO PEPPERMINT PUERH TEA. Good Mood Mylk Recipe 2 cups of almonds; 8 cups water; Blend and strain through a nut milk bag. Rinse blender and add back. Add 1/4 cup cacao, 1/2 cup maple syrup, pinch pink salt, capful of vanilla and blend. Store in frig for 5-7 days. Your guests will love this healthy alternative to Coffee Mate in their tea and coffee. Froths really nicely.
This time of year is great for starting or focusing on a gratitude journal. I also like to switch up my TM meditation with 10 minutes of alternate nostril breathing followed by 10 minutes of visualizing all that I'm grateful for. Find a comfortable seat in a chair or mediation cushion. Best done immediately upon waking or early afternoon before nighttime routines begin.
